This product is a great benefit to my senior horses. Unfortunately, it is messy to use. When I scoop it out, a significant cloud of dust rises from the container and also from where I put it on the horse feed. I have to be careful not to breathe it in. The powder cloud eventually makes my feed area dirty, and I have to be careful not to breathe in the dust when I use the product. I put water on the product when it is on the horse feed to spare them from having to breathe in the dust. A slight reformulation to prevent all that dust would be beneficial. I would give the product six stars if it wasn’t so messy to use.😁
My filly has had off and on diarrhea episodes since she was a weanling. No products worked to help with her stools until I tried Protek gi. Stools have been consistent and regular since keeping her on this product for over 6 months now.
The only challenge is that it is in powder form and can be hard to get them to eat it all.
My horse started showing signs of ulcers again within 10 days of starting this product. Disappointed I am trying everything possible and nothing seems to be stopping the cycle
I have dozens of patients on PROTEK GI, two of my own. I can personally tell you that our selle francais jumper is much more settled in his job- less fussy in his bridle, more content to be brushed and touched. His course work is cleaner (jumping in better form) because he is more relaxed. The other younger jumper has put on weight (he was a hard keeper, finicky and poor appetite), eating normally and full of confidence in the field now, bucking and playing with the other horses. It's a rare patient that owner doesn't notice the difference in the first few weeks, when they are on the PROTEK GI. It's a bit pricey or I would put more horses on it- but for those that are in immediate need, it is well worth it.
Over the years I have tried several digestive supplements touted to be the best supplements on the market. Protek GI has truly been the best. While it is expensive, I feel this product is worth the money and I feel confident i am not wasting my money on an unknown or untested product. Protek GI has 2 published studies in is highly recommended by veterinary clinics. High stress horses have been calmer and more comfortable while grooming, tacking and their comfort during their training and performance shows actual improvement. Horse's transitioned nicely off of gastrogaurd treatment without tapering. We keep all of our horses in training on Protek GI. Before using Protek GI, we had some horses that were treated with Gastrogaurd, develop ulcers again. While on Protek GI our horses have remained ulcer free. Customer service has been great. Products ship within about 4 days. Representatives and Dr Sykes answer questions promptly and with great information. Very happy to recommend this product to everyone.
